The point-of-sale system operates in a multi-user environment through a standard PC network. Sales done on one terminal are instantly updated allowing you to check your customer's activities or sales information from any terminal linked into the system instantly.
This system is a powerful solution for the modern retailer and we have a vast number of outlets right across Australia.
Advanced Sales Screen
The point of sale screen has been designed to be very flexible but still easy to use and modify. This gives the ability to create a POS screen that best suits your business and easy for your staff to operate and learn.
The sales screen consists of a sales window in the top left, fixed programmable buttons on the right and 9 tabs each containing 54 buttons at the base. Each button can be assigned a function to perform such as selling items, give discount, enter a customer etc... Further more buttons can be made to bring up other grids and menus making it a powerful system indeed.
For example, a button might be called 'Bird Food' which would bring up a menu containing Food Types. On the 'Food Menu' you might have a number of menu items: Budgie Mix, Canary Mix, etc. These can then link to another menu asking you how what size bag: 1kg, 2kg, 5kg, 10kg.
Items are able to be sold by either scanning, entering a stock code, using the stock search facility or via the direct buttons on the screen.
Some of the many capabilities of the POS screen include:
- Voucher Capability
- Customised Tendering
- Item and Sub-total discounts both as a dollar value or as a percentage
- Pending Sales
- Split Tenders
- Misc. Text Entry
- Group Printing
Customer Loyalty
Keep a track of your customers and report on their spending habits! Customers can be set as cash customers, layby customers and account customers. Generate customer invoices, trial balance report and customer statements from the back office.
With an inbuilt points system points can be accrued on the total sale amount or on specific items purchased. Once your customer has earned enough points, they can redeem them by paying by points. Alternatively customers can be rewarded by being put on an alternate price level or given an automatic discount on completion of sale. This makes it a lot easier on new staff who may not be familiar with various customers as the discounts are applied automatically.
Stock Management
Ideal POS System allows you to create and receive Purchase Orders into various locations utilising both your own and your suppliers stock codes.
Indirect items are also easily able to be created allowing you to create your own stock items from various other items.
eg.
During the Christmas period you might make a "Christmas Gift Pack". This pack could be made up of 1 x basket, 1 x shampoo, 1 x conditioner and 2 x towels. When a gift pack is sold the software knows to deduct stock levels of each item so that the gift pack can be made up whilst maintaining correct stock levels.
Reporting
Ideal POS features over 50 sales reports from the reports menu. Each report can be filtered by date and time, further filters can then be applied to obtain a more meaningful report without sorting through irrelevant data.
Reports can then be printed, saved to disk, or emailed out to a desired recipient.
Some of the various reports available include:
- Financial
- Stock Item Sales
- Department Sales
- Sales Categories
- Grouped Sales
- Clerk Sales
- Hourly Sales
- Best/Worst Sellers
- Inactive Stock
- Weekly Sales
- Promotion Sales
- Customer Invoices
- Supplier Trial Balance
- Customer Spending
- Stock Valuation
- Stock Movement
Security & Traceability
Ideal POS has the ability to limit various features to particular staff members. However preventing staff from accessing features is often not practical so even if they do have permission their actions are logged.
Eg.
Utilising the powerful Journal History Enquiry you can easily find all Item Discounts performed by a particular staff member in a given date range.
This utility can also be used to check a customers enquiry.
Eg.
A customer wants a receipt for a sale done last Tuesday. You simply ask them the rough time they came in, what it was that they purchased and how they paid and you can find a list of all sales of that item within that time frame paid for in the manner they specified.
Security of your point of sale system can further be enhanced using clerk wrist bands for staff to log on. Security cameras can also be incorporated into the POS system to track cash movement over the counter during sales.
